Why is my rescued husky puppy so thin and still has chronic diarrhea?

I am very sorry to hear that you are experiencing these issues with Prince. From the Shintoism you are describing i believe a few different issues may be present. Intestinal parasites are very common in PUPPIES, so much so that vets recommend treating puppies several times for worms in their first year. Intesta worms can cause diarrhoea, weight loss or failure to gain weight in growing animals. It also seems possible that I am Prince bas Balanoposthitis which is inflammation of the penis or prepuce. It is very common in sexually mature dogs, especially those that are unenutered. It may be caused by an infection, and may involve structures higher up in the urinary tract, such as the bladder. Therefore it is a good idea to have Prince checked out by your veterinarian. The vet can possibly examine the area and see the full extent of the inflammation, clean and rinse the area, prescribe antibiotics, and check for underlying causes. Your vet can also prescribe a worming tablet or injection for Prince. In the meantime, please try to keep Prince from licking the area, and use a cone if need be, as the licking further aggravates the condition. It could be due to intestinal parasites but it could also be something he ingested that has either caused a gastrointestinal infection or possibly an obstruction (foreign body). i would recommend taking him to your vet ASAP in order to get it checked and treated, he might need antibiotics to resolve this condition.

Hi there and thank you for posting! If you have tried the bland diet and Pepto Bismol with no resolution to the diarrhea, I would see your veterinarian for further diagnostics and treatment. I would also bring stool samples with you so that your vet can check for intestinal parasites. It is important that puppies are on a good quality puppy food in order to support their growth and development. All new foods can cause some diarrhoea and it helps to introduce new foods over a few days as well as adding probiotics to help the bowel. If he is currently tolerating wet food best then a puppy wet formula would be recommended. Ensure also he is up to date with deworming treatments as intestinal worms can contribute to such signs also

Poor Cooper! The diarrhea could be due to many conditions including eating something he shouldn’t have, bacterial over growth, parasites or even organ disease. Just because he is not around other dogs does not mean he is immune to GI parasites. If the diarrhea has continued beyond 24 hours, I recommend to have him examined by the veterinarian. With continued diarrhea, there are often bacterial shifts in the gut that will make matters worse regardless of the initial cause. Make sure to bring in a sample of fresh stool. The doctor will check him for parasites and bacterial over growth. Many times a bland diet can help and then a slow, gradual introduction to the normal food can be done. A bland diet can consist of 25% boiled white meat chicken and 75% boiled white rice. This should all be plain. A good diet in general is Royal Canin. It is low residue and highly digestible. It would probably be a good idea to have Thor examined by a vet for the low energy and possible diarrhea. Lethargy can be caused by a number of issues, including intestinal parasites, bacterial or viral infection, depression, anemia, etc. Huskies are known for being "talkers" and the crying and howling may be normal, or may be because he is unhappy to be away from his previous home.

She could have a parasite and need to be dewormed. You could pick up a dewormer from your vet and also take a stool sample to be tested. You could also add a probiotic to her diet and see if that helps.
