If he does have an active skin condition however, look for any sings of itchiness, anxiety, further hair loss, red skin, and scabs. Itching on the hind end is most often due to fleas. Check that the tick product you used on Prince covers fleas as well. Also make sure that the product you use will kill fleas at every stage in their life cycle - not just the adult fleas. Keep applying the topical medications prescribed by your veterinarian in case there is a skin infection. If this does not resolve the issue you should go back to your vet for further diagnostics. Since some metabolic diseases can cause hair loss, your vet will want to do blood work as the next step. Allergies can also cause itching and skin infections so speak with your vet about anti-allergy medications.

What I'd watch for is hair loss and thinning, lesions or pigment changes to the skin, and itchiness of rhe skin - scratching, licking, chewing.
