Why does my Golden Retriever eat everything? Is this normal behavior?

Both Golden Retrievers and poodles were originally bred to be hunting dogs and like to chase and hunt. In my opinion, Golden Retrievers tend to be more easily excited. Fortunately both breeds are usually 'easy' to train, so if these behaviors are undesirable you might be able to curb them with some basic obedience training.

You should feed her according to the instructions on the food label as it it differs from brand to brand. regarding her eating her feces, it's very common in puppies but should be discouraged of course, there are many supplements that you can find in pet shops that can help with this problem, one example is called "deter", it makes the poop very bitter and dogs usually hates the taste.

Differentials are many, from gastrointestinal diseases (infection/inflammations often dietary related) to any disease that can spread systemically (causing lethargy for example) like infection, and anything that can cause pain/discomfort. I recommend that she sees her veterinarian to ensure there is not a health problem. For example, an upper respiratory tract infection can cause a change in appetite. Golden retrievers love to play fetch, and have fantastic demeanours. If you are very interested to know the exact heritage there are blood tests your vet can run to tell you the genetics of your dog and exactly what breed it is!
