Why is my 4-week-old German Shepherd puppy so weak on diluted milk?

Poor Pixi. She looks double coated as most GSD are. At 3 weeks old, she should still be receiving her mother's milk or puppy formula. If you don't have the mother, I would supplement her with puppy formula every 3 hours. If she hasn't been eating this, she could just be really weak and low blood sugar and the reason why she can't walk or she could have some genetic malformation. With her being so young, I would have her looked at by your vet ASAP to ensure there isn't anything else going on. Your vet will be able to talk to your more in detail about weaning her to puppy food when she is 5 weeks old. You will want to start with canned puppy food and once she is 6 weeks old start to incorporate dry food. I hope this helps!

However, Olie must see a veterinarian to determine the cause of vomiting and receive proper treatment. Typically, vomiting in a puppy her age is secondary to parasites, a virus, or even an intestinal obstruction.

At 4 weeks they are still fully nursing so you will have to supplement for forumla. 4 weeks is s good time to start introducing puppy food. You can start with canned food with some water added to make it thinner and softer and place a small amount in his mouth to get him interested in it. Once he starts doing well with that you can decrease the amount of water and start soaking dry food to add to the canned until he is fully weaned. They do make a supplement called Nutrical that is helpful for young puppies that are weaned but not eating great

Hello, you can supplement her feed with additional protein sources such as chicken or turkey. You can also provide beef. Feed him 4-5 times daily at his age. Puppies need to eat small meals frequently to keep glucose levels stable. As he ages, you can definitely rease the number of feedings until he is eating twice daily at about 1 year old. The brands of food you mentioned are all premium diets and excellent choices for a growing puppy. If the have "large breed" puppy formulas, those would be best to ensure Odin doesn't grow too fast. You can make a slurry or gruel by mixing the Esbilac with the kibble. Decrease the amount of liquid over the next few weeks until he is eating dry food by 8-10 weeks of age. He can begin vaccines at 8 weeks of age though you may want to have him dewormed now and then repeat it in the next several weeks.

If Shera is only 4kg at this age, I would suspect something is preventing him from gaining weight. I would recommend having him examined by a veterinarian and have him checked for intestinal parasites and treated for parasites. He may have a congenital disease such as a liver shunt or some other systemic disease going on that needs to be treated. The sooner he is seen the better. Your puppy does not need cow milk and it can actually cause vomiting and diarrhea in some dogs. The puppy can go from mother's milk or a puppy milk replacer (if bottle feeding) right to eating a high quality puppy food. The puppy food can be mixed with some milk replacer in the beginning to make it easier to eat.
