My French Bulldog has a red spot on his inner thigh. What should I do?

Those spots on Koby could be several things including fleas, allergies, skin mites, bacterial infection, ringworm (which humans can get) or endocrine disease. There are a couple things you can do at home and they can help but they may not address the underlying cause. You can try adding in an omega 3 fatty acid supplement for dogs, this can help improve the skin health. You may also try changing his diet to something like Royal Canin or Nutro as they are aimed at skin health. You can wash the lesions once a day (not his whole body, just the lesions). Also protect the area from trauma by having your pup wear an elizabethan collar at all times. If the lesions do not start improving within a week or if they are getting worse, have him examined by the veterinarian. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.

If it doesn't start looking better within about a week or if it gets worse, have him examined by the veterinarian who may prescribe medications. It looks like there is a small amount of erythema (redness) on the scrotum. This could be from licking/itching/scratching at the area. You could try putting some triple antibiotic ointment on the area and see if that helps. Also, watch Gimli closely to make sure he is not itching/licking excessively. I hope this helps. Hello! That is my favorite breed! Frenchies can get hotspots on their testicles, so that is a possibility. A hotspot is an infected rash. It is great that he is unable to reach it, as he would make it worse by licking. I would recommend having him checked out by your vet, to see if they might be able to prescribe some medications to treat the rash.

He could be experiencing a skin infection secondary to allergies, fleas, or a problem due to ringworm or mites. His veterinarian will examine him and may recommend skin tests. Make sure that this is not from urine getting into that part of the skin and if it is, have him evaluated by a veterinarian. You can try to use a medicated shampoo containing chlorhexidine twice weekly for 2 weeks. If there is no improvement or in the meantime this appears to be getting worse, have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Good luck and have a good day!

This is very likely to be a scrotal dermatitis. It could be cause by a contact allergy or irritation or by a infective agent (bacteria, fungal). I strongly recommend to avoid any licking, chewing or scratching of the area (Gizmo would probably need a buster collar) otherwise the inflammation wan't disappear. You could bath the area with some diluted hibiscrub once a day for 3 days but if the problem persist a check up with the vet and prescription meds might be needed.
