My French Bulldog has red, itchy testicles. What should I do?

This is very likely to be a scrotal dermatitis. It could be cause by a contact allergy or irritation or by a infective agent (bacteria, fungal). I strongly recommend to avoid any licking, chewing or scratching of the area (Gizmo would probably need a buster collar) otherwise the inflammation wan't disappear. You could bath the area with some diluted hibiscrub once a day for 3 days but if the problem persist a check up with the vet and prescription meds might be needed. Those spots on Koby could be several things including fleas, allergies, skin mites, bacterial infection, ringworm (which humans can get) or endocrine disease. There are a couple things you can do at home and they can help but they may not address the underlying cause. You can try adding in an omega 3 fatty acid supplement for dogs, this can help improve the skin health. You may also try changing his diet to something like Royal Canin or Nutro as they are aimed at skin health. You can wash the lesions once a day (not his whole body, just the lesions). Also protect the area from trauma by having your pup wear an elizabethan collar at all times. If the lesions do not start improving within a week or if they are getting worse, have him examined by the veterinarian. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.

Hello! That is my favorite breed! Frenchies can get hotspots on their testicles, so that is a possibility. A hotspot is an infected rash. It is great that he is unable to reach it, as he would make it worse by licking. I would recommend having him checked out by your vet, to see if they might be able to prescribe some medications to treat the rash.

Winston's prepuce does look quite irritated. If he has been mounting or humping it could be that he has caused some irritation, and if he is able to lick the area it could get worse. I would recommend putting an e-collar on him and you should try to prevent him from rubbing or humping anything. It looks like the tip of his penis is visible in the picture as well - if the penis continues to be visible, particularly if more of it becomes visible (called paraphimosis) you should see a veterinarian right away as exposure to air can cause damage to the delicate tissue pretty quickly. If he doesn't seem more comfortable by tomorrow morning or is having any difficulty urinating I'd recommend seeing your vet as well.

It really comes down to figuring out what is causing his allergies so that they can be treated or the specific allergen avoided. A secondary infection is likely and also needs to be addressed. There are medications such as Apoquel or prednisone which may help with the itch. 

 There are many things that can cause allergies though in most cases they can be broken down into 3 big categories: flea, food and environmental allergies. 

Allergies are usually worked up in a stepwise fashion starting with flea allergies as this is the easiest and cheapest to take care of. If not on a flea preventative, then it would be a good idea to get started on one. If already on one then it would be a good idea to change to something else (there are many new products out in the market). 

If not improved in 1-3 months then it is time to move on and check for food allergies by switching to a novel diet (new protein and new carbohydrate). If that does not seem to be the issue then you are left out having to check for environmental allergies which require blood and/or skin tests.

 Allergies can be very frustrating to deal with at first but so rewarding at the end when we are able to treat them effectively!

That looks like a very inflamed ulcer or a wound. I do recommend to have that examined by the veterinarian. Kona will likely get a medicated ointment to decrease the inflammation. I hope it clears up quickly and please feel free to post any additional questions.

Breeds like French bulldogs are prone to irritation and skin infections in the jowl area. The overhanging lips creates a perfect environment for bacteria. Sometimes this can become itchy. Pets can also develop allergies to foods or certain toys or even food bowls. I recommend to call your veterinarian. They may need to check Marlowe for an infection. They often carry medicated wipes for owners to use at home to prevent irritation and infection. Also make sure to clean his toys, food and water bowls once a week with hot soapy water and rinse well. Make sure his food and water bowls are metal or ceramic. Best of luck.
