My 5-month old French Bulldog is drooling a lot. What should I do?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | French Bulldog | Male | neutered | 18 lbs

My 5-month old french bulldog has been drooling since this morning with a huge amount. There's no colors from his drool/saliva, just nonestop drooling and excessively. What shall I do?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Eason!

He may have ingested something like a mushroom from the yard or other toxin that is causing excessive drooling. Or he could be nauseous. Other causes for excessive drooling are: something is stuck in his mouth, an injury to his mouth, licking an irritating substance, or an esophageal obstruction or irritation. If he is acting normal and eating, drinking and swallowing normally then continue to monitor. If he is hard swallowing, lethargic or not eating then bring him to a Vet today!

Good luck!
