How much and how often should I feed my 4-month-old 31lb Husky?

3 1/2 cups in three servings means a little bit more than one cup on each meal (3 times a day), if you have a puppy you definitely must feed him puppy food, not adult food, you should only switch to adult food after the age of 1 year.

As a half-Mastiff, Ruby is likely going to be a pretty large dog, so I do recommend feeding her a large breed puppy food for the first year of life. Every food is formulated differently with respect to the density of calories in kibble. For this reason, follow the chart on the bag of food to match Ruby's age and weight, as this will provide the amount of food that she should have in a given day. You can then divide that amount into 3 meals as you are currently doing. I typically recommend feeding Science Diet, Purina ProPlan or Royal Canin diets, as these are high quality foods formulated by veterinary nutritionists and backed with clinical trials. If you choose to change Ruby's diet (now or at any point in her life), be sure to do so gradually by mixing her old and new foods together over 5-7 days. Hi and thanks for posting on Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Annika needs around 800-1000 calories a day for her age, sex, and weight. Nutrisource grain free has around 430 calories per cup. Feeding her one cup a day sounds about right. I hope this helps!

At 5 weeks of age your puppy should still be with its mother, nursing occassionally and eating puppy chow. At 6-8 weeks she can be completely weaned and on puppy food only. I would recommend a large breed puppy food from Hills, Royal Canin, or Purina. You should check her weight regularly and feed her the amount listed on the back of the bag that is appropriate for her weight. The amount to be fed can vary greatly between brands so a general amount can’t be given. As far as bathing goes, you can bathe her with a gentle shampoo, like aloe and oatmeal, once every 2 weeks or so. Just be sure she is nice and dry before she goes outside in the colder temperatures. Hi, thanks for using PetCoach! How long you want her to heel on a walk is up to you. If you want her to not pull and be by your side then she should be able to do it the entire walk. At 7 months old Sienna is still growing bone wise. She doesn't look overweight in your pictures. Dogs do tend to get overweight after their spay, so you do have to be careful. I would continue the current amount of food. I provided a link on how to determine ideal body condition. If she gets too overweight, cut back. She is approaching the high end of the weight range for a female. I am guessing she will hit 50 lbs. If she is a larger framed husky she could go over that. However, it is important to continue her on puppy food for at least another 2-3 months. This will let her grow appropriately as needed. I think it is perfectly fine to feed him twice a day. I would feed him about 1.5 to 2 cups twice a day depending on how active he is. If you want to give him some of the human food supplements, that is fine but I would not make it his main diet as that doesn't have all the vitamins and minerals that he needs. i hope this helps.
