Is donor dog plasma safe for my dog's eye drops?

You can try applying some drops to her eyes 3-4 times a day to see if this resolves her clinical signs. Yellow discharge can be a sign of infection, however, which requires eye medications prescribed by your veterinarian. They will first want to perform a full ocular exam to look for evidence of corneal scratches or ulcers, as this would alter treatment. As a reminder, never give dogs pain medication that is intended for humans, as they can be fatally toxic to dogs. I hope this is helpful!

That's because doing so requires a veterinary client patient relationship which cannot be achieved via an internet forum. In addition, the experts cannot say for certain if a specific drug is safe for your dog. I would not use these drugs on Storm's eye unless prescribed by a vet. I would have her seen by a vet ASAP for her hyphema, as any eye problem is considered an emergency.

0.03% Naphazoline with 0.5% glycerine is safe to use in dogs and cat. These are the main ingredients found in Clear Eyes. The recommended dose is 1-2 drops in the eye(s) every 6-8 hrs. If no improvement or worsening of signs within 24-48 hrs then your pet should be seen by your veterinarian to make sure nothing else is going on with the eyes.

This could be due to an eye injury or conditions such as a corneal laceration, corneal ulcer, conjunctivitis, dry eye (also known as KCS), among many other conditions. It is not safe to use human medications without knowing the exact medical condition as some treatments can actually worsen the patient's condition when used inadequately. Poor Blaze! I'm sorry to hear that he's having a problem with is eye. Squinting, excessive draining, and a "glazed" look can be caused by an eye infection, or by an injury to the eye such as a corneal scratch or ulcer. He will need an eye exam by your vet to diagnose the problem, and will probably need prescription meds to treat it effectively - so it's good that you're planning to take him in for a visit when you can. In the meantime, I would not recommend using any type of ointment or medication in th eye until you can see the vet to find out what's wrong - eyes are delicate, and you can accidentally make the problem worse by treating with something inappropriate. You can use plain saline eye wash to gently rinse his eye, if he'll let you, and use a warm washcloth or cotton ball to wipe away the discharge if it seems to be bothering him. This will not treat the underlying problem, but may help to make him a bit more comfortable until you are able to see the vet.

You can use it in a pinch but I would not use it long term as it contains Vitamin A. Vitamin A is fat soluble vitamin and can stay in the body a long time as it's stored in fat. I don't know if it would cause an overdose of Vitamin A long term but I would not risk it. So, yes, use it for now, but as soon as the vet gets stock you should go back to using the Lacri-Lube.
