My dog has bloody stool and yellow vomit. What first aid can I give?
Hi there and thanks for posting!
Blood in the stool and vomiting can have a variety of causes such as parasites, viral, or bacterial infections. Anal gland infections or cancer near the colon or of the large intestines can also cause blood in the stool. Gastrointestinal obstructions can also cause loose stool and vomiting.
My best advice is to withhold food from Fandanggo until tomorrow morning (he can have water, however). Tomorrow morning, feed him small amounts of boiled chicken, rice, and plain canned pumpkin ( not he pie filling). If he is still vomiting and having diarrhea today or tomorrow, he really should see a veterinarian as soon as possible. As mentioned above, there can be many causes for Fandanggo's symptoms, so it is best if not too much time goes by without seeing a veterinarian.
I hope this helps and thank you for posting on Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach!
