My dog ate something. Can it cause yellow vomit and dark stool?

Pet's info: Dog | Dachshund (Miniature Smooth Haired) | Male | unneutered | 12 years and 7 months old | 15 lbs

Can ingestion of a foreign object lead to both vomiting and diarrhea? My dog has yellow vomit and redish black stool. He is 13 years old daschund.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding James. An intestinal foreign body most commonly results in vomiting. Diarrhea is not seen as frequently. Are you missing something or know of an object he ate? Either way, he should see his veterinarian. Depending on his exam findings, blood work, urine testing and x-rays will likely be recommended to determine the cause of his symptoms. I hope this information helps!
