My dog has yellow scabs. Is it superficial pyoderma? Is he okay?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | neutered | 16.2 lbs

My shitzu poodle dog has these scabs that are yellow and we cant tell if there was a bug or what. Found something called superficial pyroderma and his affected area looks exactly like that. We are getting an appointment asap but in the meantime should he be ok?

It's definitely not an urgent matter, he should be fine and there are a lot of options here regarding the diagnosis such as mites, bacterial infection, fungal infection and more. the sooner you get it treated by a vet the better.
