My dog has worms and is nursing. Can she still feed her puppies?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pit Bull Terrier | Female | unspayed

My dog not only has worms but she also has puppies to feed, with that being said the question I’ve been trying to have answered all day is can she nurse while having worms? We’ve given her he first round of dewormer.

Yes, she can nurse the puppies even though she has worms. I would definitely make sure to deworm her ASAP, but it sounds like you're doing that - so it's fine for her to continue nursing in the meantime. You will also need to deworm the puppies starting at two weeks of age.
