My dog gets wobbly, pants, and tires quickly after play. Vet?

A consult would be a good idea in this case. If the vet was referring to laryngeal paralysis, a consult will help you figure out if treating medically vs surgically is the best option. If your dog is having difficulty breathing, blue gums or tongue or collapse is noted, get her to the emergency hospital immediately.

I can certainly see how this would be very alarming to witness. The symptoms you describe may be related to a disease process affecting an organ system (more often the neurologic (seizure event) or cardiac (heart event) systems). What i would recommend is a visit to your family veterinarian for a physical exam, to discuss the events, and to discuss additional testing (like bloodwork to rule out organ changes). It is also extremely helpful to get a video of an event so that your vet can watch it. Also, given the age of your pup, make sure there is nothing new in the environment that he could be snacking on that may be toxic to dogs (plants, etc.). I'm wondering if you're describing ataxia, or uncoordinated movement, in the back legs. The legs can cross over each other and if you flip a foot upside down it takes awhile for the dog to right it. This can be a sign of a spinal cord problem, and I would recommend having your vet examine Cloud. If he is weak in his back legs or if he seems painful I'd recommend seeing a vet right away.

If she is having a change in her exercise pattern, I would recommend an exam by a veterinarian to rule out pain (which can cause panting) or a heart condition. These are common signs seen for both. If you have noticed a change in her breathing pattern and she appears to have labored breathing, I would recommend getting her in to be examined by a veterinarian as soon as possible. She does need to see a vet as soon as you can as this sounds like a neurological problem. It may be a stroke, an inner ear infection, or vestibular disease. Your vet will examine her and start her on medicine to help with the dizziness and off balance so she can rest. Most regain normal function with time and treatment.

Poor Jake! He should really be examined by your vet to determine the cause of his problem. He could have an issue with his heart or lungs and your vet can run some tests to help diagnose and then determine if treatment is needed. I don't recommend letting him play outside and you should only take him on a short walk until he is examined by a vet.
