My dog collapsed after playing. Can he go on his normal walk today?

That seems unusual for a young dog so I do recommend a veterinary exam to make sure there is no problem with his heart and lungs. They will listen to his heart and lungs and perhaps take an X-ray too. A blood panel to check for anemia is also indicated. It is great you are trying to walk Sophie. However I would be concerned that she could have underlying disease that is causing her to collapse. This could include but not limited to heart diseae, heartworm disease, arthritis, lung issues, allergies, and weight. I would recommend taking her to a veterinarian for a good physical exam.

Cardiovascular or respiratory issue may provoke acute collapse during intense exercise or the signs you are describing may be completely normal. The only way to differentiate between a pathologic and normal condition would be to have Ellie checked up at your local veterinarian. That sounds scary! Zeus needs to be examined by his veterinarian today if possible. It sounds like he may have had a seizure or a syncopal episode. Pets can have seizures for many reasons including liver disease, electrolyte imbalance, infections, inner ear problems, cancer or epilepsy. Syncopal episodes are generally related to the heart. He will need a physical exam and bloodwork to begin to narrow down and appropriately address the cause. Seizures are serious and are best addressed early. It sounds like Ingmar could have a serious health issue related to heart disease, seizures, or toxin exposure.
