Is it safe to walk my dogs after parvo, especially for constipation?

She will be protected and if she is kept away from other dogs, it's not likely she will bring anything back to the home that could infected the puppy. I hope this helps!

As long as your puppy stays current on his [vaccination series](https://www.petcoach.co/article/vaccination-recommendations-for-puppies-puppy-shots) (boosters every 3-4 weeks until at least 16 weeks of age), he can certainly go on walks in your neighborhood. In fact, it's very important to get him out and about at this age since the critical [socialization](https://www.petcoach.co/article/socialization-of-your-puppy) period for dogs last from 6 to 16 weeks of age - so he needs to be out seeing the world, the sooner the better. I would recommend avoiding [dog parks](https://www.petcoach.co/article/dog-parks-fun-and-games) and other busy areas where large numbers of unknown dogs have been, but it should be fine to walk him in quieter areas.

Parvo virus is transmitted from the feces/vomit of one infected dog directly to another (it can survive in the soiled environment for over 12months if not adequately cleaned and disinfected with bleach). She should be isolated from any areas where she may have contact with non-vaccinated dogs or their feces until after her second parvo vaccination but your own house (or enclosed garden) should be relatively safe as long as any accidents from your previous pup have been removed and bleached/steamed

In dogs infected with parvo virus, there can be long term health effects from the infection such as chronic gastrointestinal disease. I would recommend going on a sensitive stomach formula and adding in a probiotic to see if this helps. As always, check the stool for intestinal parasites to make sure a parasite is not the cause. In theory, she has not mount a response to her vaccines yet so she can still get infected with like parvovirus if those feces were infected with parvovirus. However, that is very unlikely so I would not worry about that too much as the chance of that is very small. Good luck and have a great day! She is likely going to be just fine.

However, the likelihood of Luna developing parvovirus just from being walked in a heavily trafficked area is low unless she directly had contact with feces from an infected dog. I would not be too concerned at this time. Just work with your primary care veterinarian in starting her on a vaccination protocol and avoid contact with other dogs with an unknown vaccination status until she is fully vaccinated. I will tell you what to look for in terms of parvovirus symptoms though again it is unlikely that she has parvovirus. Symptoms usually include lethargy, vomiting and/or diarrhea. Contact your veterinarian to get her set up to start a vaccination program soon. I think she will be fine. Nothing like getting a new pup! I bet she is adorable! Good luck!

Hi there! I'm glad your girl is feeling better. :) If she has recovered and is now eating and drinking normally, acting good, and no longer vomiting, then she should not need any special care from here on out - she can go back to normal life. There should be no concern with using the fan or air conditioner, bathing her, or letting her sleep on the floor. She can be vaccinated as normal now that she's no longer sick. And yes, it's fine for her to go outside and resume her normal daily walk routine.
