Labrador's stool not normal after parvo. Why is he pooping so much?

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | neutered | 4 years and 10 months old | 35 lbs

Hello i have a 5 year old labrador Retriever dog.... Before 2 months he affected by parvo and was not regularly vaccinated.. Last week doctor gave him parvo vaccine but after parvo his stool does not get normal... Maximum time his stool pass with mucus and some times it's watery and sometimes quite normal... Doctor says he is fine...but he goes to poop for 6-7 times a day...

Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to address your concern. In dogs infected with parvo virus, there can be long term health effects from the infection such as chronic gastrointestinal disease. I would recommend going on a sensitive stomach formula and adding in a probiotic to see if this helps. As always, check the stool for intestinal parasites to make sure a parasite is not the cause.
