My dog vomited yellow liquid after eating pills. Is he at risk?

If your pet has vomited this much in the past 45 minutes I would be very suspicious of a foreign body or a very intense dietary indiscretion (eating something he shouldn't have). I would recommend you start supportive care (like Famotiidne 05-1.0mg/kg every 12 hrs and a bland diet like Purina EN Gastrointestinal canned food OR boiled plain chicken and rice or cottage cheese. However there is a big possibility that this could have been a toxicity and if any more symptoms start to arise (such as ataxia (staggering) or shaking, crying out) then I highly recommend you seek a personal veterinarian for a physical examination and further diagnostics. - Dr. H

It is never recommended to give human medications to your pet without the advice of your veterinarian. Some medications can be toxic or may complicate any underlying condition. If she can keep the water down, continue with small frequent amounts. No more than a couple tablespoons (20-30 mls) at a time. Have her examined by your veterinarian in the morning. The foods she ate can certainly cause vomiting, but it is best to have serious illness or foreign body ruled out by the vet.

Poor Gulliver! He could have an upset stomach from too many treats. If he is otherwise acting fine, you could withhold food for the day and then try a bland diet of boiled chicken and white rice and see how he does with that. However, if he ingested any foreign material from the garbage that could be entrapped within his GI tract and causing an obstruction, then this may require further assessment by a veterinarian. If Shadow has persistent vomiting (more than 3 times per day), lethargy, decreased appetite, painful abdomen, and occasionally diarrhea, then have him evaluated promptly by a veterinarian then. I am sorry to hear about Sam. Repeated vomiting is not normal, and I would be concerned there is something else going on here. If Sam is a dog who gets into trash or has a sensitive stomach he may just have a case of gastritis from this, and a period of fasting and reintroduction with a bland diet may help. Hello! Sounds like Gus vomitted up some bile. As long as this was the only instance of vomit and he otherwise appears to be acting like himself, I would not worry. It's unlikely that the vomit is related to the vaccines as vaccine reactions typically happen immediately or within a couple of hours after administration of the vaccine. Continue to keep an eye on him for any other episodes of vomiting or changes in his behavior. Hopefully this was a one time event and won't cause Gus or you to miss a beat! Hope this helps.

It could be the Tablet (is it Bravecto by any chance?) i have seen it happening before. withhold food for 12 hours then offer him boiled boneless chicken and rice every 6 hours in small portions. if he is eating and not vomiting, continue with this diet for 2 days. After 2 days, you can put him back gradually on his normal food. If he continues vomiting or is not eating, take him to the vet to get treatment.
