My dog is vomiting white liquid, losing weight, and has diarrhea. Why?

Poor Dexter! The vomiting and diarrhea could be due to many conditions including eating something he shouldn’t have, bacterial over growth, parasites or even an intestinal blockage. If the diarrhea has continued beyond 24 hours, I recommend to have him examined by the veterinarian. If he has not eaten well for the past 24 hours, I recommend to have him examined by the veterinarian. With continued diarrhea, there are often bacterial shifts in the gut that will make matters worse regardless of the initial cause. Make sure to bring in a sample of fresh stool. The doctor will check him for parasites and bacterial over growth. Puppies generally have a big appetite so when they aren't eating well, it's concerning for a more serious cause of illness. Some times a bland diet can help and then a slow, gradual introduction to the normal food can be done. A bland diet can consist of 25% boiled white meat chicken and 75% boiled white rice. I am concerned that something serious is going on with your dog. I understand there may be no vets nearby but I think in this case ironworks be worth making a trip to a nearby city or town to seek out help. Vomiting and diarrhea together is commonly referred to as gastroenteritis. There can be several causes for gastroenteritis such as metabolic issues, pancreatitis, dietary indiscretion, intestinal parasites and a foreign body/blockage. Because this has been going on for a while and your dog is losing weight I would recommend taking your dog to the vet to be evaluated. Your vet may recommend blood work and X-rays to figure out what exactly is going on. Your dog may need fluid if dehydrated, nausea medication and antibiotics. I hope this helps. It seems as Scooby is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking him to the vet the first chance you get, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better. if the vet thinks it is more serious he will need a blood test and possibly an ultrasound in order to find out what is wrong.

So sorry to hear that Bubu is not feeling well! Puppies are very prone to intestinal parasites, and depending on which vaccines they have received, viral infections such as parvovirus. Bubu may have also eaten something he should not have which has blocked his intestinal tract or was toxic. He should be seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible as he is likely to become dehydrated very quickly as he loses fluids from vomiting and having diarrhea and not eating/drinking. His veterinarian will likely need to run some tests including blood work, a fecal exam, and take x-rays to determine the cause and prescribe medication to treat the condition. Thank you for submitting your question regarding Trigger. I recommend that he sees his veterinarian. Being such a small dog, I am concerned that he is dehydrated by now. His veterinarian will examine him and determine if testing is needed such as fecal testing and possibly bloodwork. From there, treatment will be started to make him feel better. He may need fluids, anti-nausea medication and/or antibiotics to stop the diarrhea. I hope this information helps!

Poor Scrappy! At best he sounds like he has a bad touch of gastroenteritis but I fear the fatty foods may have given him pancreatitis which can be serious. To be honest either way if he is vomiting and not drinking the vet is unavoidable as he will get very dehydrated and worsen. He will likely need a drip and medication. I would urge you to go asap as the longer you leave it the more treatment he may need and the more it will cost.

Poor Shaggy! This vomiting, weight loss, and dull fur could be due to a heavy burden of intestinal worms. It could also be caused by a medical illness such as inflammatory bowel disease, chronic GI illness, or a foreign body among others. I would take him into the vet for a physical exam, blood tests, fecal exam (bring along a sample of his feces), urinalysis, and possibly x-rays. Using these tests, the vet can diagnose what is causing Shaggy's symptoms so he can be treated.
