Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | spayed | 2 years and 11 months old | 15 lbs

How can I help reduce the stress level in my Terrier Mix young adult dog during a move that will require car travel for over 1200 miles (or 2 days of car travel) in the past she has gotten physically ill (vomiting) in the car even with Homeopathic calming drops given?.!

Hello. There is a medication called Cerenia that is designed specifically for motion sickness. In addition, a very small dose of acepromazine may calm your pet for the duration of the trip. Please ask your veterinarian about prescribing these medications to you. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
