What can I give my dog to prevent car sickness on a long trip?

I would recommend asking your vet about a drug called 'maropitant' or Cerenia. This is the best drug for dogs for car sickness. This is a prescription drug so he will have to get it through his veterinarian. It's great for motion sickness, nausea, and vomiting. Letting your vet know that Coco gets car sick is best as they can provide you with a prescription or the correct dose of an over the counter medication to help. Usually, you'll give it about 30-60m before the car ride. Making sure Coco has a place where she can lay down and relax comfortably may help as well.

Since we haven't physically examined your pet, the policy here is that we cannot prescribe medication to Buster unfortunately, but your vet can easily prescribe a motion sickness medication for Buster with a simple phone call in most cases, especially if he was seen within the last year. Also an alternative over the counter medication can be recommended to him as well. I hope that you are able to help him out for those frequent car rides!
