My dog threw up, is shaky, unstable, and can't hold his head up. Help!

Poor King Meza! He does sound like he isn't feeling well at the moment, but his symptoms are a little general to pinpoint a specific illness. I'm wondering if you mean that his head is shaking when you say he can't keep it still. That would be involuntary head tremors, and could be caused by an injury, toxins, inflammation, hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), weakness, or pain. He might be lethargic as well. You have a couple of options in this case. You can take him into a vet right away for an exam to be safe, and I typically recommend doing that since I can't see the animal in person to say if they will be ok or not. In my opinion, it's always best to be safe and have an animal seen by a vet when there are concerns about their health. The other option is to monitor him for now. If his symptoms continue for the next couple of hours, they worsen, or he develops additional signs such as vomiting, anorexia, seizures, or any other concerning signs, I would take him into a vet right away.

Difficulty walk or standing, also known as ataxia, is definitely a cause for concern. This may be caused by neurological issues or a toxin. Xhesi should be seen by a vet immediately to determine the cause and be stabilized if necessary.

The treatment you are doing at home is not working so I would be very worried that he has a major problem. You cannot leave him sick like this. Continuous vomiting, whether he wants to eat or not, is not normal and neither are head tremors. He needs to be seen by a vet.

Unfortunately there isn't anything you can do at home for Sam at this point in time except withhold food and rest him. He should see a vet now, he sounds terribly sick. Please take him into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. Oh my. Poor guy. His symptoms unfortunately aren’t specific for one disease process to speak ok. Lethargy, shivering and weakness can be caused by just about any disease process including: toxin ingestion, underlying heart disease, or even anaphylactic shock is a possibility. But one thing is sure, Snoopy is in need of medical care if this has been going on for more than 6 hrs or so. He will need some diagnostic testing (bloodwork analysis to start) to determine what the underlying problem is so that we know how best to help Snoopy get better. Poor Handsome! The shivering could be from pain or fever. He does sound like he is quite ill. If he is continually throwing up, I'd be concerned that he has a severe GI illness, pancreatitis, or a foreign body. I'm not sure of his vaccination status, but if he isn't vaccinated, parvovirus could be causing this as well. I recommend taking him into your vet now because he sounds so ill. Your vet can give him a shot to help him stop vomiting, and can diagnose what is causing his symptoms. Your vet can also start treatment to help him feel better. I understand being scared and sad, it's awful to see your pet sick. Taking him to your vet will help you be less scared and sad, as you will be getting help for him.
