Why is my dog lethargic, shivering, and tilting his head suddenly?

Poor King Meza! He does sound like he isn't feeling well at the moment, but his symptoms are a little general to pinpoint a specific illness. I'm wondering if you mean that his head is shaking when you say he can't keep it still. That would be involuntary head tremors, and could be caused by an injury, toxins, inflammation, hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), weakness, or pain. He might be lethargic as well. You have a couple of options in this case. You can take him into a vet right away for an exam to be safe, and I typically recommend doing that since I can't see the animal in person to say if they will be ok or not. In my opinion, it's always best to be safe and have an animal seen by a vet when there are concerns about their health. The other option is to monitor him for now. If his symptoms continue for the next couple of hours, they worsen, or he develops additional signs such as vomiting, anorexia, seizures, or any other concerning signs, I would take him into a vet right away.

Please also check his gum color to ensure they are still nice and pink. Pale gums are cause for an immediate vet visit wtihout waiting for the pet to improve. Hmm. That is odd. With no other symptoms besides the shaking, it is hard to say for sure. Shaking can be a sign of pain, neurological or an acid/base imbalance. I would continue monitor him for the next 12 hrs to see if this behavior continues. If it does then the next best step is to get some baseline bloodwork to look for underlying issues. You can also feel around to see if Snickers is painful in any particular area. That can help the vet focus on that one area to look for underlying causes. At this age most dogs also have arthritis, so it is a good idea to get Snickers on a daily joint supplement regardless. All these signs are very concerning and point to a possible viral infection or metabolic disease. You need to take your dog to a veterinarian or PetER right away as he may be having a serious infection that needs to be tended to. Distemper comes to mind, a liver shunt and/or meningitis.

Synis experiencing very general symptoms of disease, these symptoms could fit almost any internal condition, maybe he is suffering from nausea due to a gastrointestinal disease and maybe he is in pain, from the symptoms described it's very hard to know. i would recommend taking him to the vet as soon as possible in order to get him checked, if he doesn't show any other obvious symptoms during the examination, a blood test and possibly an ultrasound will be needed in order to try and find out what is wrong with Syn.

Hi there. While it is not abnormal for Charlie to be lethargic and behave differently when everyone leaves-this is a bit much. I would recommend taking him in to your veterinarian in case something else is going on. Pancreatitis, intoxication, and a few other diseases can start with this presentation. Shivering in dogs is often a pain response (can also be nervousness, cold, etc). If these behaviors continue I recommend taking him in as soon as you can to try to prevent it from getting worse. Your poor pup sounds ill! Without seeing him in person, I can't say what is causing his symptoms, but it could be due to a systemic infection or injury to name a few things. The best thing to do for him is to take him into a vet as soon as possible. I hope this helps!
