My dog is throwing up, not eating, shaking, panting. When to see vet?

I hate to hear that Pantufla is not feeling well! Just like humans, there are many many causes of vomiting and some of the causes can be very serious. Any pet vomiting beyond 24 hours should be examined by the veterinarian. Any pet who is vomiting more than twice in a day or not holding down water also needs to be examined by the veterinarian. I am concerned that the shaking you are seeing indicates abdominal pain which is very worrisome for an intestinal blockage or pancreatitis. I recommend to have Pantufla examined today. Loss of appetite can be observed with many conditions such as gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, kidney disease, pancreatitis, among many other possibilities. I recommend that you have Panda evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to check for these possibilities and others depending on the findings on exam. I would recommend that you have Tera examined by a vet. These symptoms can be caused by a number of issues, including liver or kidney failure, intestinal obstruction, pyometra or other life-threatening infection, etc. The vet will do an exam and may recommend diagnostic testing based on what they suspect.

I would recommend taking her to a veterinarian. I am concerned she is shaking after episodes of vomiting. You can take her temperature at home. Normal for a dog is 99-102.5. Unfortunately many things can cause vomiting like indigestion, foreign material, infections, pyometra, toxins and foreign objects. Since she is not feeling well a vet visit will help break down what is going on for proper treatment.

It sounds as your pet is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking him to the vet urgently, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better. . if the vet thinks it is more serious he will need a blood test and possibly an ultrasound in order to find out what is wrong.

Yes, any pet that has persistent signs especially vomiting and diarrhea should be evaluated immediately. Once dehydration and electrolyte imbalance develop, they will just continue to get weaker and weaker unless treated. Reasons for vomiting/diarrhea are many and range from intestinal problems or problems with other organs in the body causing the signs. Intestinal worms, dietary indiscretion (eating things she is not supposed to eat), dietary intolerance/sensitivity, a foreign body (especially in younger dogs), infection, inflammation, toxins, pancreatitis, kidney/liver problems, etc. Your vet can do a physical exam and some tests which could include a fecal exam, blood work, x-rays, ultrasound, etc. to try to determine what is causing the problem. Once a diagnosis is made they will advise a treatment plan to address the issue. Your vet can also address the itching of her muzzle and whining which may or may not be related. I hope this is just temporary and it resolves quickly for you and Moka.
