My Dachshund keeps vomiting and can't get comfortable. What's wrong?

Not eating and vomiting can be due to a very upset stomach/gastritis, pancreatitis, severe diabetic crisis, blockages of the gut, organ disease, etc. It is important to stop the vomiting and rule out surgical causes and organ failure causes. I recommend you have Peanut to the vet right away, they will likely recommend bloodwork and x-rays. Best of luck with Peanut!

Hi. Poor dexter. I don't know if it's just him normally or not, but his back seems arched. He seems guarded. I'd get him checked out to have his tummy, back, and analysis glands checked. Good luck.

Drooling and vomiting are both signs compatible with a gastritis, an inflammation of the stomach very likely related to dietary indiscretion/intoxication from something Minie has eaten. If signs are particularly persistent and do not settle down a check up would be absolutely needed as medical treatment could resolve them.

Hello, thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I am so sorry that Ace is not feeling well. I would suspect that he has picked up a bit of an infection. The quivering could be a sign that he is running a fever. Being a dachshund, I would also be concerned that he has injured his back as we see a lot on Intervertebral Disc Disease in this breed. If you have the ability to have Ace evaluated by your veterinarian, a diagnosis can be made & he proper treatment started to get Ace feeling better as soon as possible. I hope all is well soon. It's pretty serious when a dog can't keep down water, and it could be that Ruby could have a GI illness, but it could be something more serious like a pyometra. Please take your parents she has to see a vet now.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Sophie! I always worry when older dogs start getting sick. I recommend taking Sophie to the Vet 12 hour fasted for an exam. Bring a stool and urine sample. After the exam I would take belly X-ray and run full blood and urine testing. Causes of vomiting are: intestinal parasites, foreign body (she ate something that is stuck and require surgery to remove), kidney or liver failure, cancer, pancreatitis, inflammatory bowel disease, food allergy or intolerance, dietary indiscretion. At this point, I would be concerned that there is something else ongoing if a bland diet didn't help, and his symptoms are still ongoing several days after ingestion/the initial vomiting and diarrhea. It would be best to bring Champ to your vet ASAP to see if there is another underlying cause that needs to be addressed.
