Dog vomiting 5 days, rattling breath after flea meds. Vet needed?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | 7 years and 5 months old

My dog has been vomiting after eating or drinking water for almost five days now. The Vomit is clear with white foamy pieces of various sizes as of today. She wants to eat but can't hold food down. This seems to have all started when a topical flea medicine was put on her. As of a few hours ago, her breathing has a rattling sound. What could be causing this? I am withholding food as recommended in other answers

After 5days she really does need to be seen by a vet and receive treatment. Pancreatitis or a bowel obstruction are both possible causes, blood tests and xrays may be required. She urgently requires fluid and nutritional therapy
