My dog is struggling to breathe, vomiting white foam, and not eating.

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | unspayed | 4 years and 3 months old | 45 lbs

Chrissy is a America bulldog mix breed that 4yrs old. She stopped eating yesterday around 7pm. She started showing signs of being I'll for 3 days. I gave her some antibiotics that was left over from her vet. Her breathing and movements improved slightly. She looks as if she struggling to breath when she moves around. She threw up some yellowish looking stuff with her food mixed in it. Now it's just white foam. She keeps her head in downward position all the time. She does drink water.

Please have her assessed urgently by a vet, breathing difficulties can rapidly deteriorate and can become very serious. Heart, lung issues or gastrointestinal obstruction can all present similarly and require urgent treatment to stabilise. It is never recommended to stop treat me prematurely or to randomly treat with left over medications as this can delay and confuse diagnosis
