My Golden Retriever vomits hair and food for days. What's wrong?

If Leo is vomiting 2-4x a week routinely I would be concerned because this is not normal for dogs. In the pictures you provided it looks like the food is not fully digested. I would be worried about gastritis, a blockage, or irritable bowel disease. My best recommendation is to take Leo to the vet so the issue can be sorted out. They may recommend lab work and x-rays. I would take Lady into a vet. When a dog has been vomiting for more than 24 hours, then it is time to seek medical attention. This vomiting could be caused by a GI illness, eating something rotten, pancreatitis, or a foreign body. Please take her into a vet now.

That is a long time for Kittu to vomit, and I would be concerned he has something serious wrong with him such as a foreign body or pancreatitis causing his vomiting. if he's vomiting whenever he eats, he will not have had any nutrition for four or five days. These are important tests with chronic gastrointestinal disease. Cobalamin and folate are vitamins used in digestion. If either are low, they will require supplementation. This can help a lot. Next, has he undergone a strict diet trial with a prescription diet? This will help if he has a food allergy, food intolerance or inflammatory bowel disease. These are a few things I think of when hearing of Leo's problems. I hope this information is a good starting point for you.

Poor guy. I would suggest having your vet do baseline bloodwork first to rule out underlying conditions that can cause repeated episodes of vomiting such as pancreatitis, kidney or liver disease first. Then once those are ruled out I would inquire with your vet about giving him Pepto Bismol for a short trial period to see if this helps with his assumed upset stomach issue. It's quite serious your dog hasn't been able to keep anything down for two days, and he may have a severe GI illness, could have a foreign body, pancreatitis, or may have eaten something rotten, He could also have an ear infection. At this point in time, and due to the severity of his symptoms, this cannot be treated at home. You must take him into a vet now.

It could be that Dakota has a GI illness or may have eaten something that upset her stomach. It's good that she has stopped vomiting and is drinking water, but I imagine her stomach is still a little sensitive from the vomiting. I can give you a home remedy to see if that helps her. I would feed her a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, she vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, she will need to see a vet right away.
