Why is my dog throwing up clear liquid for days but still eating?

Vomiting can be observed with conditions such as gastroenteritis, pancreatitis, dietary indiscretion, gastrointestinal foreign body ingestion and obstruction, among other possibilities. For this reason, I highly recommend that you have her evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment as soon as possible as I am afraid she is likely becoming dehydrated. They would be able to check for these possibilities and also check her hydration status and give her medications to make her feel better. Good luck!

Just like humans, pets can vomit for many reasons including parvo, eating something she shouldn't have, parasites, toxins or an intestinal blockage (which can be fatal). because some of these reasons can be very serious and because it has been going on tor 2 days, I recommend to have Kenzie examined first thing tomorrow morning. She needs treatment to fix what ever is causing the vomiting and at this point, she may have some dehydration or electrolyte imbalance issues. Any pet vomiting beyond 48 hours needs to be examined. This is definitely concerning - if your pup is not current on her booster vaccines, I would be very worried that she may have parvo. She may also have an upset stomach due to something she has eaten. If she is acting normal otherwise, you can try withholding food for the next 12 hours to help settle her stomach, then offer some plain boiled chicken and white rice. If she continues to vomit even though you aren't feeding her, or if she is acting lethargic or having any other symptoms, then I would recommend having her seen tonight by an emergency vet if possible as she may have a serious problem.

Be sure that you know if she is vomiting (belly goes in and out) versus regurgitation (burps up fluid) versus a cough with a terminal retch (cough is first followed by a gag of fluid). I don't know how old Honey is but she only weighs 5 lbs and that means if she is truly vomiting then she could get dehydrated quickly. If the vomiting is non-stop she should be taken to your Vet if open or an emergency hospital. If it has been a couple of times remove all water and food. Do not offer water for 4-6 hours of no vomiting and offer small amounts and ice chips. Do not offer food until 12-24 hours of no vomiting and offer it as a bland diet of boiled chicken or hamburger with rice. Feed 1 cup per 20 lbs per day as small frequent meals. If she continues to vomit while fasted or once she starts eating she needs to see a Vet. Causes of vomiting are: intestinal parasites, foreign body (something is stuck and needs surgery to remove), dietary indiscretion, viral or bacterial infections, metabolic conditions, toxin ingestion, food allergy or intolerance. The clear liquid vomit in puppies is not too concerning to me at this rate. This indicates that the puppy may have some mild stomach irritation or is drinking water too fast. If it continues to happen once every other day, then I wouldn't be too worried. This should pass in a week or two. If it's multiple times a day, or is continually happening every other day for multiple weeks, then I'd be a little more concerned and would advise a visit to the vet. Chronic vomiting, has multiple causes but may cause an electrolyte imbalance which could account for the symptoms you are seeing. If he is drinking more water than usual, he should be seen by your vet for an exam and bloodwork to rule out kidney disease, diabetes or other GI issues. When a pet is vomiting, withhold food for 12-24 hours. Allow small amounts of water or unflavored PediaLyte. Resume feeding a bland diet (1:1 ratio of plain boiled boneless chicken and plain white rice). Feed in small, frequent amounts waiting at least one hour between feedings. If he won't eat, serve the food warm or mix in a teaspoon of baby food to stimulate the appetite. If the vomiting stops, transition slowly to the regular diet. If not or if the appetite does not return, then you will need to see your veterinarian.

I'm so sorry to hear this about Butter. :( I worry in an older dog with vomiting and disinterest in food that they could have a serious illness, like organ failure or cancer. I worry that Butter might not be eating because he could be nauseous or have a painful belly ache. I'd recommend having him seen by a vet as soon as possible for a physical exam.
