Why is my dog throwing up blood, not eating, and can't pee?

Urinating blood can indicating a bladder infection or something potentially life threatening like a clotting disorder. The fact that he is also committing indicates systemic illness. The veterinarian will perform a physical exam and then recommend diagnostics such as urinalysis bloodwork or possibly radiographs (xrays). Good luck and I hope he’s better soon.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I noticed in one of those pictures that his stool is really diarrhea and is black (which usually means a sign of bleeding). Vomiting and diarrhea can occur secondary to conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease, dietary indiscretion, parasites, among other possibilities. In addition, black stools can be indicative of bleeding into the small intestine or stomach which can happen secondary to an ulcer for instance. Bloody urine can be the result of an infection, stones, tumors, among other possibilities. I recommend that you have him evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. At the very least they can start him on medications to make him feel better and check his hydration status. In the meantime, keep water available at all times to try to prevent dehydration. Poor Shelby! Such chronic vomiting with lack ignorance appetite is definitely cause for concern. This may be caused by a stomach ulcer, foreign body, or parasites. I recommend having Shelby seen by a vet right away to determine what is going on and provide the appropriate treatment, which may include fluids, antibiotics, and hospitalization. Thank you for submitting your question regarding Baby Girl. Unfortunately, she sounds more sick than most dogs with a urinary tract infection. I recommend that she is seen again and has additional diagnostics performed. She may need x-rays of her abdomen or even an ultrasound. Her uterus should be checked to ensure the infection is not there. She would likely benefit from medication to help control the nausea and vomiting as well. Try to offer water so that she does not become dehydrated. I hope this information helps!

Reasons for blood in the stool include colitis, intestinal parasites and dietary indiscretion and some possible reasons of blood in the urine include urinary tract infections, urinary stones and even tumors. This could be due to a urinary tract infection, urinary tract stones, urinary tract tumor, among many other possibilities. I recommend that you have Bobot evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. At the very least, he can be started on medications to make him feel better. Good luck! Hi and thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Sorry to hear about Daisy. Contact your local rescue groups, humane societies, low-cost clinics in your area and seek help. Persistent vomiting, bloody diarrhea and lack of appetite are emergent clinic signs due to fluid/electrolyte losses. This leads to dehydration, weakness, and further downward deterioration unless the vomiting stops and the appetite returns. I would advise taking Daisy to your vet as soon as possible to have her evaluated. Many causes are possible including intestinal parasites, dietary indiscretion (eating things dogs aren't supposed to), other dietary problems, gastrointestinal inflammation/infection from various sources, toxin exposure, foreign body ingestion, GI ulceration, side effects from drugs or products used, or even problems outside of the gut including pancreatitis, liver/kidney problems, among many others. Your vet can get a detailed history and perform a thorough exam. Once done, a diagnostic plan and preliminary treatment plan can be started. Most likely a minimum database of fecal/blood/urine tests and some x-rays will be advised. Treatment will be focused on the cause but early treatment could include fluids/electrolytes, anti-nausea/vomiting medicines, acid blockers, etc. Good luck with Daisy.
