My dog is sick and vomiting after eating a pig ear. What to do?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 20 lbs

I’m pretty sure my dog got sick from eating a pig ear, what should i do ? he throws up every 4/5 hours and wants to drink so much water

Poor Buster. I can give you home remedy to see if that helps. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, he vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away. Hello. As long as she is eating & drinking normally, then it sounds like there is not too much to be concerned about. I would guess the treats & pigs ears may have something to do with this. The pigs ears may just be taking their time to digest & dissolve totally. You might want to recheck Luna's stools to make sure there are no parasite problems, but she may need more time to get over her indigestion. The pig's ear is probably the cause of vomiting and it might not be the end of it, it may happen again in the next 24 hours, keep a close eye on Misha in order to monitor her vomiting and withhold food for at least 8 hours. If she continues vomiting- take her to the vet.

As long as Bailey is behaving normally otherwise, you can try withholding food for 24 hours. Allow small amounts of water or unflavored PediaLyte. Resume feeding a bland diet in small, frequent amounts. Begin with one tablespoon of food every hour and gradually increase the amount. Feed bland until the stool is normal then transition slowly to the regular diet. See your veterinarian if Bailey develops lethargy, vomiting, loss of appetite, abdominal pain or if the stool has the appearance of raspberry jelly. A bland diet is plain white rice mixed with one of the following: cottage cheese, boiled boneless/skinless chicken breasts, cooked/drained ground beef or cooked/drained ground turkey.
