My dog vomited white foam and has black diarrhea after eating liver.

Also, mushrooms can result in liver toxicity in dogs that tends to be significant. Even if he vomited some of it, there is still likely some left in his system. I think it would be best to have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to check some basic lab work to check for signs of liver toxicity and treat accordingly. Good luck and have a great day!

Vomiting and diarrhea can be caused by many conditions primarily gastrointestinal in nature such gastroenteritis and gastrointestinal foreign body ingestion and obstruction or other conditions such as pancreatitis or kidney disease. I recommend that you have your pup evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Likely diagnostics to be performed include abdominal imaging and general bloodwork. You could try a bland diet composed mainly of boiled chicken and white rice which is easily digestible and can help with an upset stomach. Good luck and have a great day!

If she seems to be doing better now and the vomiting has resolved, it should be fine to continue with the current plan of giving her small amounts of i/d for the next 2-3 days before gradually switching back to her regular diet. If she's still vomiting despite the Pepcid and bland diet, then I would say she definitely needs a vet visit at this point to determine what is causing her symptoms. She may have an intestinal obstruction, pancreatitis, or some type of systemic illness like liver or kidney disease. Your veterinarian can do blood work and x-rays if needed to help diagnose the problem and get her started on appropriate treatment depending on what is found.

Vomiting and diarrhea can occur secondary to conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease, dietary indiscretion, parasites, among other possibilities. In addition, black stools can be indicative of bleeding into the small intestine or stomach which can happen secondary to an ulcer for instance. Bloody urine can be the result of an infection, stones, tumors, among other possibilities. I recommend that you have him evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. At the very least they can start him on medications to make him feel better and check his hydration status. In the meantime, keep water available at all times to try to prevent dehydration. The tar like appearance to his stool is likely due to digested blood, indicating bleeding in the GI tract of some kind (a growth, an ulcer, secondary to toxin ingestion, etc.). I would have him seen, have any necessary testing done (X-rays, bloodwork), and get started on treatment to resolve his issues (GI protectant, anti-nausea medication, anti-diarrheal, antacids, for example).
