Which vaccine for my adult dog with no shot records: 5-way or 10-way?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 60 lbs

I have a 4 year old English bulldog boxer mix and the lady I got her from never gave me any shot records so I waited a year to do any shot just incase so I am wondering if I should start with a 5 way or go with the 10 way? I didn't know if it should matter.

Hi there. If leptospirosis is a concern in your area, then you would vaccinate with the 10-way. If not, or if you choose not to vaccinate for lepto (some owners prefer not to), then you would use the 5-way. There is no need to "start with" the 5-way at this age.
