Vaccine recommendations to partially depend upon his lifestyle and where you live. Also, that second vaccine should have been given in a 2 to 4 week window from the initial vaccine. If it was given later than four weeks after the first vaccine, he will need booster vaccines within a 2 to 4 week window. The "core" vaccines that Bentley *should* have received as a puppy are his rabies vaccine (usually given between 12-16 weeks of age) and his distemper/parvovirus vaccines (usually given every 3-4 weeks from 8 to over 16 weeks of age). Both these vaccines would be boostered a year later. If you have no vaccine history on Bentley, then it's best to err on the side of making sure he's protected. It won't hurt him to get the vaccines now, even if he received them as a puppy. I would definitely get him vaccinated for rabies and distemper/parvovirus, and then I'd recommend talking to your vet about the other "non-core" vaccines they recommend for your area and Bentley's potential risk. Possible additional vaccines could include bordetella ("Kennel cough"), canine influenza, lyme, and leptospirosis. Your dog will need several vaccines. Most veterinarians give a yearly combo vaccine that includes distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, parainfluenza, and Corona (DHPPC). He will also need his Rabies vaccine. Rabies can now be given every three years after the initial 1 year vaccine. Other vaccines that I recommend are Canine Bordetella vacine (kennel cough) that is given every 6 or 12 months, and a Leptospirosis vaccine (this vaccine can be added to the combo vaccine or given alone). If your veterinarian offers a Lymes disease vaccine (probably means lymes is prevelant in your area), it would be a good idea to get that one as well. If Beaux only had a vaccination at 6 weeks of age, he will likely need 2 more DAPP vaccinations 2-4 weeks apart. He will also need a Rabies vaccination and may need a Bordatella vaccination for a training class. I would recommend contacting your local training facility to find out what vaccinations they require (because some are now also requiring influenza vaccination depending on the location), then schedule an appointment with a veterinarian to determine the best vaccine schedule for Beaux to be fully protected from the vaccinations. If he only had a vaccination at 6 weeks of age, then he is NOT considered protected, so I would not recommend taking him to a training class without consulting with a veterinarian. Good luck! Hello, puppies under a year of age should have 3 sets of the DDP injection, 2 of the bordetella and a rabies injection. This series is typically completed by 16 weeks of age. So if Stoney has had all of his series, then he should be not need any more vaccines until 1 year from his previous vaccine. If he has not had the entire series of vaccines, he may still need additional bordetella, DDP, or even his rabies vaccine. Depending on his age and vaccination history, he made need to restart the 5in1 series again and have 2 doses 3-4 weeks apart. The best thing would be to have a vet examine him and evaluate his vaccine history and determine which vaccines he needs and when.

It is not too late for vaccines. Schedule an appointment with your veterinarian. Discuss your dog's lifestyle. Together, you can determine which vaccine protocol is best for your dog. At the very least your dog should get a rabies vaccine and a distemper/parvovirus combo vaccine. He may require boosters 4 weeks after the initial vaccines. Consider a heartworm test and fecal as well. Monthly preventatives are also strongly recommended.
