Can I give Trifexis to my spayed dog on Amoxi/Clav and Carprofen?

Yes. If your dog has had trifexis before then I would not worry and continue it on your normal schedule. If she has never had it before, I would choose a different type of heart worm and flea prevention because the most common side effect is vomiting.

You are correct that you want to make sure that Harper Grace does not miss her heartworm medication. All heartworm medications are tested to be safe when given in conjunction with antibiotics. It is ok to give trifexis and simparica together (staggered by 2 weeks is great). Both of those medications will protect against fleas so there is some overlap with that. If you want to streamline how many medications you are giving Dakota monthly, Another option would be to use sentinel or interceptor instead of the trifexis and give with that with simparica monthly. These products contain the same heart worm preventative (milbemycin) as trifexis but do not contain any medication to kill adult fleas. (Trifexis contains both the milbemycin for heart worm prevention and Spinosad for fleas). That way you would be giving one medication for heart worm prevention (sentinel or interceptor ) and one for flea and tick prevention (simparica). Another option is to continue trifexis and add in a tick collar (such as the preventic collar or the seresto collar). I know there are so many products and options it is confusing ! There are numerous causes of vomiting such as dietary indiscretion, an infection, stress or something more serious such as eating a foreign object. If she still refuses to eat or cannot keep food or water down, then she will need to see a veterinarian today. Being such a small breed dog, it is easy for her to become dehydrated. If she seems to be feeling better, give her small frequent amounts of water and food throughout the day today. I hope this information helps!

Hi there. Trifexis has a very wide margin of safety (a dog could eat an entire box and not have any serious issues, in most cases), so it's unlikely that this will cause any problems. The most likely side effect would be vomiting or GI upset, in the first day or two after taking the meds. If she's acting normal so far, you probably won't see any issues at all. It's fine for her to continue with her normal daily routine as far as eating, exercising, etc.
