No. They both cover hearteorms and should be given at least 2 weeks apart. If you just need the flea control portion of the trifexis you can get a separate tablet to cover it that can be given with heartgard such as nexgard or simparica

I would say after 24 hours, Leo should be fine to see other dogs. Depending on what product you used, efficacy rates can vary. The best products are oral products such as Comfortis, Simparica or Trifexis. Some over the counter products don't work well at all. So there is variability in how well it will work. After 24hours any product you used will be in his system and any topical products dried. Please post again with any further questions.

I would wait at least 2 weeks after your applied the Hearts medication before giving him the Bravecto. In addition to the extra flea preventative, you should also consider treating your environment for fleas. This includes washing bedding, vacuuming, and washing any clothing Brody may have direct contact with. This will hopefully reduce the flea burden in your environment to help you get control of the fleas. Only about 5% of the flea problem is what we see on our pets, the rest of the problem lies in our environment as eggs and immature life stages of fleas. When vacuuming, remember to not reuse the same vacuum bag. When spraying your environment with insecticide, remember to use products that are safe for pets and even then, if possible, remove them from the environment for 1-2 hours. According to the manufacturer..... Please wait 48 hours between product application and bathing. A non-medicated shampoo made for dogs is fine. Baths can be given as often as once per month without affecting the performance of the product. If more than one bath is given, the product should be reapplied after the second bath. Flea shampoo, medicated shampoos, human shampoo and dish detergents are not appropriate choices when managing fleas with K9 Advantix® II and may affect the performance of the product.

It is ok to give trifexis and simparica together (staggered by 2 weeks is great). Both of those medications will protect against fleas so there is some overlap with that. If you want to streamline how many medications you are giving Dakota monthly, Another option would be to use sentinel or interceptor instead of the trifexis and give with that with simparica monthly. These products contain the same heart worm preventative (milbemycin) as trifexis but do not contain any medication to kill adult fleas. (Trifexis contains both the milbemycin for heart worm prevention and Spinosad for fleas). That way you would be giving one medication for heart worm prevention (sentinel or interceptor ) and one for flea and tick prevention (simparica). Another option is to continue trifexis and add in a tick collar (such as the preventic collar or the seresto collar). I know there are so many products and options it is confusing !
