Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | neutered | 80 lbs
My large Rottweiler/ Coonhound mix just tore one of his rear foot toenails nearly completely off exposing the "meat" underneath. We've washed it in a warm soapy water to get as much dirt out as possible and applied an antiseptic. The nail itself is still pretty firmly attached and information online says to remove the nail to ensure proper healing. How should we go about removing the rest of the nail? And is there anything more we should do? Thank you!
