My dog tied. Why no pregnancy signs yet? Could she still be pregnant?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Yes, if Princess tied 3 times she is very likely pregnant. Based on your pictures her belly and mammary glands are enlarged. Milk can show up as early as 1 week before labor to right before. Dogs are pregnant 60-63 days so if 12/25 was when you saw them tied then I would expect her to be due 2/22. You can schedule an appointment with your Vet soon to have an X-rays taken to confirm pregnancy and the number of puppies. I would get the whelping box together and start puppy food. If she is pregnant, I suspect that she will start to show within the next one to two weeks. You should also see her mammary glands develop. After 28 days of pregnancy, she can see a veterinarian to have her pregnancy confirmed by ultrasound. A puppy count can be done with x-rays after about 45 days of gestation. Hello. If she got pregnant 41 days ago, she may not start showing significantly for another week. However, if she first tied 41 days ago, & then tied at a second breeding, then I might start counting from the second tie vs. the first. If she is only carrying 1-2 puppies, it may be another week or so before the fetuses are large enough to start filling the abdomen. Just in case she is pregnant, switch her to a good quality puppy food & increase the amount. You do not want her to go into the last part of her pregnancy or start nursing puppies when she is so skinny. You might want to have your vet take a look at Ali to see why she is so skinny & make sure she is healthy enough to carry & successfully raise her litter. It all depends on whether the male dog ejaculated or not. You can run a pregnancy test and/or an ultrasound at 28 days or have an X-ray done at day 50. Write down the date when they mated. Dogs are pregnant for 60-63 days. I hope this helps!

Options for Nancy at this point include having her spayed now to terminate a possible pregnancy and prevent future pregnancies, waiting until about 42-45 days after the dogs tied to take her to the vet for x-rays (the pups' skeletons would be visible on x-ray at this point), or simply taking a "wait and see" approach.
