My dog tied multiple times, no bleeding. Could she be pregnant?

my dog tied 4 times we dont no when shes in season as she doesnt bleed she stood fornour male dog 3 ties lasted 5 minutes and ladt one half an hour will she be pregnant ?

If she stood for mating and was in heat then yes she is likely pregnant. I would assume she was in season. You can have an ultrasound done at 28 days and/or X-rays find at 50 days to confirm pregnancy. Dogs are pregnant for 60-63 days.

A normal estrus cycle will result in bleeding. If you are not ever seeing bloody vaginal discharge, I am concerned that her fertility is not normal. Your vet may be able to help you track her cycle by doing vaginal swabs and looking at the cells under a microscope, as well as tracking her hormone levels on blood tests. This information will help you if you want to breed her. From what you are saying, I don't think its likely she will be pregnant, however there is no way to know that for certain. When a dog is in heat (period) they can have bloody vaginal discharge for up to 2 weeks. Some dogs have light bleeding while others have heavy bleeding. Dogs do not have bleeding after mating or if they are pregnant, unless they are having complications of pregnancy.

I think it would be helpful to know more details: how long the bleeding have been going on? Urinary symptoms? Has she had a heat before? Has she been bred? How is she feeling?

If she has been bleeding from her vulva for more than 2 weeks or is not feeling well she needs to seek veterinary care.

I would have her examined by your Vet. I would worry she could have an infected uterus or be trying to deliver. She could be pregnant but with one or 2 puppies. Vaginal bleeding off from a normal heat cycle is not normal. An infected uterus is life threatening. It is best to be safe and have her seen.

I know it is scary! It is very likely she is in heat. Especially if she is young and otherwise acting fine. If her vulva is also swollen it is very likely as well. As long as there is no rat/mouse poison exposure or increased urination or any other bruising on her skin or gum bleeding then being in heat is most likely.

To be safe though make an appointment today so your Vet can examine her. If she is in heat then it is safe to spay her 6-8 weeks after the bleeding stops. Leash walk her only and do not let her out on her own so she can't get pregnant for the next 3 weeks.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Honey is super cute! Dogs are pregnant for 60-63 days. Puppies can be seen on ultrasound around 28 days pregnant and on X-ray around 50 days. An ultrasound depends on your area. A full abdominal ultrasound in my area (east coast) is around $400 but may be cheaper if just checking for puppies. You would have to call around. Or you can wait until day 50 (from her being let outside) and have your Vet take an X-ray, which is probably only $100. Another option if you do not want puppies, is to have spayed immediately. My 9-month dog was mounted at the park. Is she too young for pups?

Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Rain is so adorable! Dogs go through a heat cycle only twice a year or so, so the chances that Rain got pregnant from one incident at the dog park are rather slim. Mating in dogs takes about 20 minutes, and typically involves a "tie" which includes the dogs standing with their rear ends together. If Rain were to be pregnant, 9 months is not too young and she can very well have an absolutely normal pregnancy. I hope this helps and am happy to answer any other questions you may have!

My dog in heat had an accidental tie. What's the pregnancy chance?

There is a fairly good chance a mating with a tie may result in a pregnancy. You'll need to wait about 4 weeks after the mating to confirm via blood work, palpation or abdominal ultrasound. It will need to be confirmed by your veterinarian. There is a canine version of the "morning after" pill but you'll need to contact your veterinarian as soon as possible for it to be administered for maximum effect.

My dog tied. Why no pregnancy signs yet? Could she still be pregnant?

Because Pixie tied, there is a possibility that she is pregnant. Typically the more obvious signs of pregnancy are seen until later in a dog's pregnancy, and the only way to know for sure if she is pregnant is to have her seen by a vet. I would wait until at least 45 days after she tied to take her into the vet. At this point, the vet can do x-rays to diagnose that she is pregnant, and will be able to see the puppies on the x-rays to count how many she is having.
