Why is my dog throwing up daily? Could she have swallowed something?

Vomit is a symtoms usually referred to a problem located in the gastrointestinal system. It can be secondary to a dietary indiscretion, an ingestion of something that Minxy picked up during her walks. It could be caused by a stomach inflammation (gastritis) or if she is having soft feaces as well can be an upset of the whole gastrointestinal system. Vomit can also be a secondary to systemic diseases (i.e. renal failure). Monitor Minxy, if she continues to vomit or start having diarrhea being inappetent or showing any other symptom I recommend a consultation with your veterinarian for a full health check. Hello, and thank you for your question. Frequent vomiting is definitely a concern, and I would be worried about a possible foreign body causing obstruction. Other possibilities include food sensitivity/allergy, gut parasites, or infection. I would recommend taking Miley back to the vet within the next 12 hours if she is continuing to vomit during this time. They may recommend performing an x-ray to rule out the possibility of an obstruction. At minimum, they can prescribe medication to help settle her tummy and prevent nausea. In the meantime, if you recently offered any new diet or treats, discontinue them and try going back to her old diet. Your vet may also recommend a diet formulated for sensitive stomachs. Small, frequent meals would be best, to allow her to digest the food easier. I hope this helps, and that Miley is feeling better soon.

Hi, sorry to hear your dog is having this problem. I would recommend an ultrasound to make sure he does not have Inflammatory bowel disorder or a foreign body that does not show up on x ray. Some foreign objects can migrate throughout the GI tract so they can sometimes cause problems and sometimes be fine. An infection would not cause this problem. The anti vomiting injection only lasts 24 hours so if he did not vomit on that, you can try oral tablet of it. But if he did vomit through the injection, it is more likely he has a foreign body. If your vet cannot do an abdominal ultrasound, I would go to a specialist who has an ultrasound and is good at them to find out what is wrong Good luck, I hope this helps!

There are lots of possible reasons a dog will occasionally vomit, ranging from the very mild (sensitive stomach, eating grass, bilious vomiting syndrome) to the much more serious (inflammatory bowel disease, foreign body obstruction, etc). I would recommend having Georgia seen by a vet. The timing of the carrots indicates delayed gastric emptying; food shouldn't be sitting in her stomach that long so it's worth looking into. This isn't an emergency if she's still happy, active, and eating - but I would schedule a vet visit.

Vomiting could be caused by a number of things, including parasites, diet changes, toxin ingestion, infectious viral diseases, blockage in the intestines caused by ingestion of a foreign body, food sensitivity/allergy, decreased pancreatic function, or a mass/growth in the gastrointestinal tract. Please have your dog seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible to allow for diagnosis and treatment. If your dog could have eaten anything such as medications, household cleaners, plants, toys, food scraps, or garbage, please let the vet know about it to help them determine if there could be a toxicity. Just like humans, pets can vomit for many reasons including parvo, eating something she shouldn't have, parasites, toxins or an intestinal blockage (which can be fatal). because some of these reasons can be very serious and because it has been going on tor 2 days, I recommend to have Kenzie examined first thing tomorrow morning. She needs treatment to fix what ever is causing the vomiting and at this point, she may have some dehydration or electrolyte imbalance issues. Any pet vomiting beyond 48 hours needs to be examined. Vomiting can be observed with conditions such as gastroenteritis, pancreatitis, dietary indiscretion, gastrointestinal foreign body ingestion and obstruction, among other possibilities. For this reason, I highly recommend that you have Chewy evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment as soon as possible as I am afraid she is likely becoming dehydrated.
