Dog throwing up on antibiotics: Is it too much? Should I stop?

I'm very sorry you are dealing with this. At this point, you should discuss quality of life issues with your veterinarian. Friday may be able to get an antibiotic injection that, hopefully, would not cause stomach upset. If your veterinarian is unavailable due to the holiday, consider a visit to the local veterinary ER. After an exam, the vet on staff could recommend a different antibiotic or an injection.

It is possible that she could be having a sensitivity to the antibiotic or this could be another complication to her upset tummy. I would make sure you are feeding her a complete meal then wait 15-20 minutes befor giving her the antibiotics. Also you may want to try feeding her only plain chicken (no bones) and rice as This is bland and easy on the tummy for recovery. If This doesn’t help then I would talk to your vet about a recheck. Your vet may want to give her an anti-nausea medicine, change her antibiotics or take X-rays if indicated. I hope this helps!

Poor Mac! I recommend to call his veterinarian who may ask to see him again or may recommend medications. It possible the antibiotic has upset his tummy but it’s also possible something else is going on. You can switch his diet to boiled white meat chicken and plain boiled white rice for the next few days. If he continues to be sick, he should see his veterinarian. It is possible that these symptoms are unrelated to the antibiotics, but you definitely did the right thing by stopping to give them to her. You can monitor her throughout the night, and offer water only. If you are concerned that Stormy is getting worse throughout the night, you can have her evaluated by an emergency vet. I'm sorry to hear that Turbo has not been feeling well! Yes, it is possible that he is vomiting due to gastritis caused by the antibiotics. Like humans, our four legged friends can also develop an upset stomach during antibiotic administration. Start by offering a bland diet small frequent amounts of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) in lieu of Turbo's normal diet. If Turbo's vomiting stops, continue feeding this for a few more days, then gradually transition to his normal diet over another 5-7 days. If Turbo's vomiting continues, call your vet to discuss possibly changing to different antibiotics to treat his ear infection. I hope that he's feeling better soon!

I would take her to see your vet or at least try to call and talk to them. She may not be tolerating the antibiotics as well as she should. Medication choice depends on what type of infection they found and if culture/sensitively was performed. Be sure to feed her before medication.
