If it was the one episode of vomiting and he is otherwise acting normally then I would be concerned but not panicked. I would watch him for the next 24 hours to see what happens. If there is more vomiting or bloody diarrhea then i would get him checked right away. It may be from having an empty stomach or eating something he was. It suppose to

If it was a one time instance, then yes, it should be OK to just watch him right now. I do think he should see a vet for sure if it happens again - bloody vomit is not a good sign.
