Why does my older bulldog have a raised, flaky rash on his testicles?

This is very likely to be a scrotal dermatitis. It could be cause by a contact allergy or irritation or by a infective agent (bacteria, fungal). I strongly recommend to avoid any licking, chewing or scratching of the area (Gizmo would probably need a buster collar) otherwise the inflammation wan't disappear. You could bath the area with some diluted hibiscrub once a day for 3 days but if the problem persist a check up with the vet and prescription meds might be needed. Those spots on Koby could be several things including fleas, allergies, skin mites, bacterial infection, ringworm (which humans can get) or endocrine disease. There are a couple things you can do at home and they can help but they may not address the underlying cause. You can try adding in an omega 3 fatty acid supplement for dogs, this can help improve the skin health. You may also try changing his diet to something like Royal Canin or Nutro as they are aimed at skin health. You can wash the lesions once a day (not his whole body, just the lesions). Also protect the area from trauma by having your pup wear an elizabethan collar at all times. If the lesions do not start improving within a week or if they are getting worse, have him examined by the veterinarian. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.

It looks like there is a small amount of erythema (redness) on the scrotum. This could be from licking/itching/scratching at the area. You could try putting some triple antibiotic ointment on the area and see if that helps. Also, watch Gimli closely to make sure he is not itching/licking excessively. I hope this helps. Hello! That is my favorite breed! Frenchies can get hotspots on their testicles, so that is a possibility. A hotspot is an infected rash. It is great that he is unable to reach it, as he would make it worse by licking. I would recommend having him checked out by your vet, to see if they might be able to prescribe some medications to treat the rash.

He could have a skn infection or possibly an allergic dermatitis. You could bathe him with a medicated dog shampoo and see if that helps. Otherwise, have him examined by your vet to determine the cause and treat the problem. He may need an antibiotic, anti-histamine, and/or corticosteroid to help treat.

HI, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! English Bull dogs are prone to allergies (food and environment), skin infections, demodex, and immune conditions. I would have the bumps checked to see if they are from a skin infection from yeast and/or bacteria. I would put Henry on Bravecto or Nexgard to cover for demodex. Since he is older I would have full blood work done, including a thyroid profile. If the skin doesn't improve on therapy in 3 weeks have some of the lesions biopsied to make sure it isn't skin cancer. Especially if skin problems are abnormal for him. If the lesions are more bumps than flat hairless areas and aren't consistent with a skin infection I would jump to the biopsy sooner. I hope this helps and I wish Henry a speedy recovery!

The lump needs to be checked and analysed as there are many conditions and types of tumors that could look like that. take him to the vet, they will perform a fine needle aspiration on the growth and send it to the lab for analysis. when the result comes, the vet will advise what needs to be done according to the diagnosis. the rash is not as urgent to check but your vet will check it as well when he checks the lump.
