My dog's leg is swollen and she can't stand on it after 8 days?

The leash must be removed immediately to relieve the obstruction of the blood flow. If the leg is evidently distorted or broken or her foot is cold to touch she needs urgent vet care otherwise monitor for a reduction in swelling and discomfort over 12 hours or so

I really feel that Lexi needs to have a full veterinary exam to determine what has happened. From the pictures, one possibility is that she is adjusting how she sits to extend the injured leg out - if she is not putting any weight on that leg then she may have broken it, or injured a ligament. There are also a couple of illnesses that can occur in a young growing dog, thses can be diagnosed with an exam and xrays. If she is limping she should have pain relief - Do not use any human medicines as these may be toxic to her.

In the picture is not great but that looks swollen. While sprains can swell, swelling is more common with broken bones. Both conditions are painful. I recommend to have Oreo see her veterinarian today who will likely need an x-ray to check for a broken bone. Just like with humans, some broken bones can heal with a cast but others need surgery. Because she had this accident last week and is still not using the leg, I would take her into the vet today.

Terriers are tough cookies and can handle a lot of pain before showing it. Since he is putting weight on the leg he likely did not break anything. He may just be sore or may have pulled a muscle or damaged a ligament. I would make him rest and just leash walk him for 2-3 days, no jumping and running, and if the limp is still there on Tuesday, have the leg looked at by a veterinarian.
