My dog swallowed a plastic sauce packet and rubber band. Is it safe?

In the majority of cases such a small rubber band should not cause any problem and should pass easily through the intestines, just monitor her in the next few days, signs to be concerned about include vomiting, constipation, lethargy and lack of appetite.

A small amount of ketchup shouldn't harm her at all :) If she consumed the entire packet, including the packaging, there is a small chance that this could cause an intestinal obstruction but usually things like this pass through with no problems. As long as she is eating and drinking, acting normal, and not vomiting, I wouldn't worry. The packet will probably pass through her system and be passed in her stool within the next 2-3 days.

Since he is 30 pound, he will likely be fine but you have two options. You can either take him in now and see if they can make him throw it up. The other options is to start feeding him some high fiber canned food to help him pass it. Your vet may be able to provide you with some if they sell it. If you don't take him in now to get him to throw it up, I would watch him closely for vomiting and not eating. Also, make sure he is having regular bowel movements. Just watch for any signs of abdominal discomfort such as vomiting, diarrhea, retching, stretching, bloating, excessive water intake or loss of appetite. If Booka remains normal over the next 48-72 hours, then she will most likely be past all danger. But for the most part, she should be fine. If it was a single rubber band I wouldn't be too concerned - I'd think it would make it through the gastrointestinal tract. If Pepper has other medical problems and he ingested the rubber band in the last hour you may want to see an emergency veterinarian to discuss the pros and cons of inducing vomiting.

Hi, I think if the pieces of plastic are quite small, they are likely to pass through his tummy without causing any issues. At this point in time, you can keep an eye for any signs relating to gastro-intestinal problems. Is Cashew eating well and passing normal faeces ? Is any sickness occurring ? If you haven't noticed any abnormal signs, you just ned to keep an eye on his faeces over the next few days, and make sure he is not straining nor in any pain.
