My puppy swallowed my nose ring. Does he need an emergency vet?

Yes, she should see a vet ASAP and have an xray done, this way you will know for sure if she ingested it as well as where it is situated, if she indeed ingested it she will likely need to have a surgery done to have it removed.

This should be pass through the intestine without causing major problems. I would recommend to monitor Coco for the next 48hours for any sign like lethargy, inappetence, vomiting or having diarrhoea. If that was the case a check up would be ideal.

In fact, most of unwell puppies become lethargic and go off food. It could be caused by fever, abdominal pain, food indiscretion, airways infection and more. It is unlikely that the earring would cause gastrointestinal obstruction. I would expect Moose to pass the earring with the stools. Please, try and get your puppy to eat and offer him plenty of water to drink this evening. However, if he does not get any better by the morning, if he starts to vomit or his abdomen is hard to touch, you should take him to your local vets for an appointment.

Swallowing an earring is concerning because the stud could cause a puncture or perforation to the stomach or intestines. This needs to be monitored closely and the earring may need to be removed surgically or endoscopically. Vomiting can be caused by many things including eating the earring. The nose bleed is worrying indeed, but it could be related to the same trauma. if he is otherwise absolutely fine you can wait and see, monitor him closely and make sure he doesn't become lethargic. if he isn't' himself at all- take him to the ER.

It will be OK for you to wait until the morning and see how Charlie does overnight. Watch him closely for any vomiting and diarrhea. These are two symptoms of an intestinal blockage. Based on Charlie's size and the photo of the necklace you provided, I think that may pass without incident. Feed him as usual in the morning and see if he can keep the food down.
