Why did my dog suddenly die after running with frothing and nosebleed?

Hello, I am so sorry to hear of Indie's passing. Clear fluid coming from the nose is a common post-mortem event that likely did not have anything to do with her passing. It is possible she had respiratory disease that could have caused excessive nasal drainage though. A veterinarian could perform an autopsy and try to confirm a cause of death. Dogs can experience heart attacks and strokes as sudden causes of death, even in young age. I know unexpected loss can be very traumatic, but please do not blame yourself. Unfortunately, the only way to know why she died would be to have an autopsy performed (called a necropsy in animals), either by your veterinarian or a veterinary pathologist if you have one nearby. Since it sounds like it happened quite suddenly and she was bleeding from her eyes, she may have had a bleeding disorder (this can be caused by ingesting rat poison, or by some hereditary or immune-mediated diseases), or she could have suffered a head trauma of some kind. But I'm afraid there's no way to know for sure without a necrospy. Again, I'm so sorry for your loss.

Again, I'm sorry you lost Honey suddenly. One thing that comes to mind to me is a splenic hemangiosarcoma (tumor on the spleen). The dog acts completely normal while this tumor is growing (or shows only very subtle signs of illness), and then suddenly crashes and dies when the tumor ruptures (which they do). It appears to come out of nowhere. This happened to my dog. He seemed completely fine, then one night out of nowhere, he was panting and having trouble breathing. I rushed him into the clinic, and he had a stomach full of fluid. There was nothing I could at that point in time. Another option is she got into something toxic. I wish I could give an exact answer, but without seeing her in person, I can't say for certain, but I hope this helps.

I think the fluid you noticed is inflammatory fluid coming from the chest because of the presence of cancer. This is secondary to the presence of the tumour, sadly can’t be treated and does aggravate the breathing itself. I hope Mary did not suffer. Thinking about you at this difficult time.

There could be a number of things causing his sudden death such as exposure to toxins, cancer, liver failure, heart disease, or even the bone if it caused an obstruction.
