My dog has stringy yellow poop that gets stuck. Could it be worms?

Those yellow things don't look like the typical tapeworm. I would recommend to take the sample (containging the yellow things in question) to the vets office to have them look at it under a microscope. That will be able to show if it is eggs of the tapeworms or not. A fresh sample is best for testing. I hope things get figured out for Corky!

Hi there Persistent diarrhea is one thing we take pretty seriously in our pets. It would be helpful to know if Winnie has been dewormed lately and if she has been vaccinated. Your vet will likely need to do a fecal exam to make sure what you are describing isn't parasites, first and foremost. It is less concerning with her overall seemingly good health but I would still encourage you to do it soon. I hope this helps!

How lovely of you to save Bruno! It could be that he ate something or he could have worms. Worms are very common in puppies, and given he was a stray, he would not have gotten deworming treatments. I would have him seen by a vet first thing in the morning. Bring along a sample of his feces for the vet to examined. He will need a thorough health check, blood work, urinalysis, vaccines, heartworm treatment, and flea treatment in addition to deworming. If you don't want to assume financial responsibility for Bruno, I would bring him into the SPCA. They can get him the medical treatment he needs and can find a home for him.

It's hard to tell from the photo, but if they are round and "spaghetti-like", they are probably roundworms. Most over the counter dewormers can take care of roundworms, however your vet can also prescribe deworming medications, and you can bring in a sample of them to your vet if needed to be identified in person.

Hi there. It looks like Bandit had either some mucous or worms stuck to his feces when he pooped. I can't quite tell from your photo, but in either case I would recommend taking the sample to your veterinarian because Bandit will need either a dewormer or some GI medications. I hope that helps. It would be worthwhile taking a sample to your vets office to confirm exactly what species they are but if long and thin they are likely to be a roundworm species and not tapeworm (flat segments and often moving). There are many types of roundworm and your vets should be able to help you identify what you have so you can both treat and try and reduce re-occurrence

She could have a parasite or an infection causing the problem. The best thing would be to have her examined by a vet to determine the exact cause. Your vet can test a stool sample for parasites and then prescribe medications to treat the diarrhea. She may need to a dewormer, antibiotic, or other medications. You could also add a probiotic to her diet and feed a bland diet of boiled chicken and white rice for a few days and see if that helps.
