My dog has strange spots or bumps on his body. Should I worry?

Any bump or mass on a dog should be examined by a veterinarian in person. Your vet can perform an exam and a fine-needle aspirate of the mass - where he/she uses a needle and syringe to sample cells from the mass and look at them under a microscope. This way, your veterinarian can determine what type of mass that is and then recommend treatment. I hope this is helpful!

Hello. These are probably benign, but since they are pigmented, I would recommend checking them out. A biopsy of one of them should confirm what the rest are & if a treatment plan is indicated, your veterinarian will know exactly what to do, even if it is just a watch & wait on the bumps. I would continue to monitor it for the next 48 hours. If it does not improve or it worsens, have Jules evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! It is not possible to know without being able to evaluate Bowser. These could be benign or malignant growths. There is no way of knowing for sure without an examination though this represents a reason to seek veterinary care. This is usually determined with an examination and a fine needle aspirate (FNA) or a biopsy. Treatment depends on the findings up to that point. Hi and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. It is hard to see the photos but I am glad that WInston is not bothered by the bumps at all. They look very small and I would not be concerned at this time. They may be small bug bites, an allergic reaction to something, or something else. If they get bigger, become red or have any discharge or if they become bothersome to Winston, I would get them checked out by a veterinarian. For now, I would just continue to monitor them as long as Winston is comfortable!

These look like little warts, that could be harmless. However I am a little worried that they have pigment around them and are not pink as they probably should be, I suggest you take Peluchin to a veterinarian and have the masses examined hands-on. Your vet may want to do a little biopsy taking one of those growths out and sending it in to determine whether they are benign or not. So, best schedule an appointment with your vet.

Thank you for your questions about Plutia. Most skin masses are benign and it’s not uncommon for dogs to get multiple skin masses (sometimes they are the same, sometimes not). Any time you see a new mass, I recommend to have it checked out by your veterinarian. One way to eliminate worrying is to have the masses aspirated. The doctor will collect a small sample of cells and look at it under a microscope. Then you will know what types of masses are present and if they are benign, then you don’t need to continue worrying.
