Stomach cancer may have a genetic compound, or could just be bad luck. Cancer is when cells start to multiply excessively, but do not, like normal cells, die off when they have reached a specific age, So they just keep growing.
Cancer, with the exception of very very few, is not contagious. Stomach cancer is not contagious.

I'm very sorry to hear that, intestinal cancer is not that uncommon in dogs and there might be a genetic factor in their case, it's very hard to know. it could also be related to the food or to other environmental factors or it could just be a very unfortunate coincidence.
