My dog sprained her leg. How long until she can jump and run again?

It can take a few weeks for a sprain to heal. I would rest Sadie during this time. No running, jumping, or playing. Take her out to toilet on a lead only, and bring her right back in when she's done. She may also benefit from some pain medications, so I would have Sadie seen by a vet who can prescribe some for her. Poor Lola! You're doing exactly the right thing by restricting her activity - no stairs or jumping on or off of the furniture, if possible. You can take her for short walks to potty, but no more than 5-10 minutes and definitely keep her on leash. If the injury is minor, like a mild sprain or pulled muscle, she should be much improved within the next 24 hours or so. If there is no improvement in the next 2-3 days, I would recommend taking her to the vet for x-rays to find out what's wrong.

It sounds like he is improving and a sprain can take 7-10 days or longer to heal. If he does not continue to improve than he should be examined by your vet to determine the cause and treat the problem.

Poor Asha. The best thing you can do is to crate her or confine her so she will rest. She needs to get off that leg and rest. If it is a soft tissue injury like a sprain it should improve after a couple of days. If she is still limping when your vet reopens the. I would have your vet take a look at her to ensure she doesn’t need any pain meds or X-rays to rule out a fracture.
